My mini OneOnOne bot Cigaret,current(2003.Mar.2) rank 2#(1v1) on eternal-rumble. It's a open source bot,feel free to use its source code.but not just copy and paste most code to be a new bot. when i smoke:

version 1.11(2003.3.12):

 * replace a input for pattern(Wave) and changed match value count method.
 * pattern analyzer do a little better,and in this version if it find very good match value,
 * the pattern analyzer will breat.so if the enemy is very predictable,i will use very little time to analyse.
 * so,shoot better than 1.01.
 * movement based on enemy's bullet power.

version 1.12(2003.3.14):

 * add a sentence to ram target,become a rammer :).

version 1.13(2003.3.16):

 * make it ram better.

version 1.15 3003.3.31

 * 1.15:add a strategy -- Anti-Ram
 * if Cigaret's energy is low,he does not fire,so...some rammer go to ram him
 * when the rammer is close,he start to escape ,when it is very close,he fire.(because very close so mostly hit it)
 * (codesize 1488)

version 1.16(2003.4.6):

 * fixed a bug in ramming.

version 1.19(2003.4.24):

 * tweaked movement a little.

version 1.20(2003.4.26):

 * tweaked movement a little again.

version 1.31(2003.7.13):

How does it move?

random move around enemy.

How does it fire?

Use Wave to recored shoot angle and pattern element to do pattern analyse.

How does it dodge bullets?

random move can dodge some.:-)

How does the melee strategy differ from one-on-one strategy?

Just a OneOnOne bot.

Where did you get the name?

When the idea of Wave come up my brain while I was Smoke(smoking) Cigaret listening Lacrimas Profundere's BlackSwans and spit out a Smog.I think this maybe good. Then after that day,i write a new bot--Cigaret.

Improve movement and find better pattern inputs.

Smoke use the similar movement and aiming system,BlackSwans use the same aiming system.

I ran Cigaret 1.2 against DT and got some interesting results. DT eventually learns and comes back ahead, but 1.2 seems to be able to beat him pretty thoroughly early on. Also, Cigaret stayed ahead on bullet damage even when losing on survival. I think the latest wave targeting definitely beats whatever DT is using. Nicely done. -- Kuuran

I wrote a new stat-gun for my own bots and was quite satisfied when i saw it hit many good bots.Then i took cigarets movement in order to put it together to a completly new bot. I want to let this bot enter the RoboRumble now (as a wiki. bot) . Am i allowed to do this and does this bot have to be open soure?

• Ah yes, still an amazing gun. It's funny how we all seem to think of it as an "old" robot when it was in the top 3 only a year ago. I guess it wasn't top 3 for nothing back then. It would probably score pretty good in the RRGunChallenge. --Vic

This robot, and virtually every other cx.* robot is the bane of my existance right now. I can not even manage a draw vs. most of them. The movement is simply devilish. Very hard to hit. Ah well, the search continues. -- jim
