Robocode has been an inspiring way to get into Java.
Have finally learnt enough to put up a simple bot, taqbot, that can take out the sample robots.
Here are the 2 bots I have so far:
- Seed: My first robot. That's what it is. A seed for better times. Tried out some basic stuff and also trying to relive some simple ideas from past RobotWar experiences. It was fun to write, but hardly up to par to anything else around.
- taqbot 1.0: A rather plain robot with lots of the older technologies I played with while learning Java. This bot is my own compilation of tips from beginner robocode sites and from some bots I have seen as well as the various test bots I have had. Simple antigravity, basic targetting and scanning. Aim to improve more on movement and then perhaps start logging and selecting strategies by analysis instead of by random. (Now I just have to see if I can find out how to upload this bot)
